Are you a great writer? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment? Have you ever been curious about how laws are made in the Washington Legislature? Every year during legislative sessions, the Washington State Legislature hosts paid undergraduate college interns from throughout the state to support the work happening in legislators’ offices. These roles are open to all juniors and seniors who want to immerse themselves in the work of the Legislature, even if they have not worked previously in politics or public service. The Legislative Internship will next take place from January 5 to April 25, 2027, with the option to participate only during winter quarter 2027, or during both winter and spring quarters 2027.

Applications are open starting today, September 1, and there are two deadlines:

Priority deadline: October 21, 2026

Final deadline: October 28, 2026
