The National Environmental Education Foundation is hosting a series of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) webinars during the lead up to this year’s National Public Lands Day celebration. The webinars are designed to help land managers and event facilitators better engage communities that have been historically underrepresented on public lands, including Spanish-speaking, the Disability, and LGBTQ+ communities. Each webinar will focus on engaging a one of these underrepresented communities.

NEEF has partnered with Pride Outside to host the third webinar on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at 2:00pm EDT. During the webinar, presenters will discuss barriers to access and share best practices for boosting relevancy and inclusion for the LGBTQ+ community at outdoor engagement events, such as National Public Lands Day.

During this event, we will:
– Outline barriers to outdoor access for the LGBTQ+ community.
– Share best practices to build inclusion into programming and outreach to include LGBTQ+ communities in community engagements events, and volunteer service events on public lands.
– Highlight successful initiatives developing connections between the LGBTQ+ community and the outdoors.

Guest Speaker:
Hannah Malvin, Founder and Director of Pride Outside
