Summary of Position

The Office of the Senior Vice Provost for Academic Affairs at the University of New Hampshire is creating a position for a one-year appointment as 0.88 FTE Lecturer/Program Coordinator for the Sustainability Dual Major.

For this teaching-focused position the ideal candidate will have completed a Ph.D. and be able to present clear evidence of teaching excellence on the broad topic of sustainability, as well as experience in, and commitment to, interdisciplinary – transdisciplinary – experiential education, collaboration, and scholarship.

The Lecturer/Program Coordinator is expected to design and teach five introductory, intermediate, and upper division sustainability courses; advise and mentor students in the Dual Major and facilitate collaboration among sustainability-related faculty, staff, and external partners.

In addition, the Lecturer/Program Coordinator is expected to assist the Program Chair with several administrative duties, including marketing the SDM to internal and external audiences, building the SDM community and enhancing linkages with students participating in other sustainability education offerings on campus, meeting regularly with other SDM instructors, and supervising teaching assistants and interns.
