
Ecostudies Institute is looking to fill multiple positions in our Shared Resources crew. This crew conducts habitat restoration and monitoring across a network of sites in the South Salish Prairies around the Olympia and Rochester area. This is a cooperative project, requiring coordination with other staff and Tribal, state, federal, and non-profit partners (including the Confederated Tribes of the Chehalis Reservation, WA Dept of Natural Resources, WA Dept of Fish and Wildlife, Center for Natural Lands Management, and other non-profit and private stakeholders). Open positions include a project manager to lead the crew as well as a seasonal technician. POSITION DESCRIPTION The Shared Resources Project Manager will primarily manage projects in the southern Salish Prairies around Olympia and Rochester area. These projects further the conservation and recovery of listed, special status, and other rare species and their habitats. This position may assist and participate with other programs and is expected to contribute to the overall growth and development of Ecostudies. The Project Manager will be responsible for leading a 4-person restoration crew that will support a network of partners to work towards their ecological restoration goals, as well as coordinating with additional crew members at partner entities. Duties include control of invasive plant species, participation on controlled burns, and species/habitat monitoring.

POSITION DESCRIPTION The Shared Resources Technician will primarily implement restoration and monitoring activities as part of the Shared Resources Team in the southern Salish Prairies around Olympia and Rochester. The team will support partners and projects that further conservation and recovery of listed and other rare species and their habitats. This position may assist and participate with other programs and is expected to contribute to the overall growth and development of the organization. The Technician will primarily be responsible for implementing restoration and monitoring activities as part of a Shared Resources crew that will support a network of partners to work towards their ecological restoration goals. The position entails strenuous physical activity and operation of heavy equipment. Duties include invasive plant control, seeding/planting, participation on controlled burns, and species/habitat monitoring.
