Job Description:

These permanent full-time positions are in Molalla, Springfield and Veneta.

What will you do?  

You will supervise coordination of the necessary field activities to meet fire program objectives on the unit or district through cooperation with cooperators and local and federal agencies.  You will supervise employees engaged in field activities accomplishing prevention, pre-suppression, suppression, and ensures maintenance of equipment and facilities to support accomplishment of program objectives along with supervising employees in other programs as assigned.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Candidates whose demonstrate skills, abilities and/or experience in the following:

  • Five years (60 months) of wildland fire suppression, emergency dispatching or equivalent experience which includes one year of leading/supervising the work of others.

 OR

  • Bachelor’s degree in forestry or closely related natural resources field and two years of wildland fire suppression or emergency dispatching experience which includes one year of leading/supervising the work of others.

  • Excellent communicator both oral and written.

  • Strong organization skills.

  • Strong experience in wildland fire suppression.

  • Experience coordinating and planning projects.

  • Strong leadership skills in wildland fire fighting.

  • Able to lead employees to success in a challenging and unique work environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to foster a culture of service, workforce diversity, equity and inclusion, team environment, and strong internal communication and alignment.

  • Preference may be given to candidates with current Division Supervisor (DIVS) qualification.
