Salary- $76,531.00 – $96,324.00 Annually
The General Permits Unit supervisor serves as the key contact point for section and program staff regarding eighteen water quality general permits, including the industrial and construction stormwater general permits, WSDOT municipal stormwater permit, winery general permit , aquatic pesticide general permits, the confined animal feeding operation (CAFO) general permit, among others. Collectively these permits establish the water quality protection requirements for two-thirds of the entities state-wide who are regulated by the Water Quality Program.
You will:
- Manage the recruiting and hiring of staff, and support staff growth, learning and development.
- Develop unit goals and objectives, and communicate staff recommendations to program leadership.
- Support staff and help them solve issues that arise while serving the public.
- Assist staff in resolving permit implementation challenges at facilities and sites around the state.
- Lead the way to improve our use of technology in supporting our permitting processes.
- Serve as a line of communication between unit staff, permit applicants, billing staff, general permit writers, and regional inspectors.
- Perform policy work, including the analysis of proposed legislation for fiscal and policy impacts.
- Build and maintain strong teams and relationships across the Water Quality Program.
