Visitor Center Coordinator

The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, a hunter based non-profit wildlife habitat conservation organization seeks professional, customer services focused individuals to join our Visitor Center Team. These positions are responsible for welcoming customers, completing retail sales, soliciting new members, leading tours and children’s programs, and educating visitors about the various programs of RMEF.  Must provide the highest level of customer service to all external and internal RMEF customers. Retail experience preferred. This position is required to work weekends. Part-time positions from 24 – 30 hours a week. Full benefit package available. 

Job Summary

The primary function of the visitor center (VC) coordinator is to provide the highest level of customer service to all external and internal RMEF customers who visit the RMEF Elk Country Visitor Center (VC). Responsible for greeting customers, retail sales, answering phones, responding to or forwarding inquiries, soliciting new members, leading tours and children programs, and educating visitors about the various programs of RMEF. This position will be responsible for working most weekends. 

Essential Functions of Visitor Center Coordinator:

1.     Meet and greet visitors, process retail sales, answer questions and inform visitors about RMEF mission and fundraising programs.

2.     Stay informed and educated about RMEF issues.

3.     Answer phones, respond to or forward inquiries.

4.     Be proficient with membership database, address change and member search procedures.

5.     Solicit new and renewing members.

6.     Assist with maintaining an attractive, inviting and professional look and feel in the VC including restocking merchandise, folding merchandise, re-arranging merchandise, cleaning mounts, cleaning and straightening up the VC when necessary.

7.     Learn and maintain skills to operate RMEF point of sale system to facilitate customer transactions.

8.     Assist with and conduct group tours as needed.

9.     Assist with “Kid’s Events,” including preparation for and working the day of the event.

10. Assist with researching new and fun ways to promote RMEF in the VC and celebrate successes with customers and members.

11. Assist with the planning and coordination of special events in the VC and local area. Take the lead on overseeing these events when assigned.

12. Assist with the receiving, tagging, folding and display of merchandise. Provide ideas for new or different merchandise displays.

13. Execute daily, monthly and annual inventory counts.

14. Other duties as assigned.
