EXPECTATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Interpersonal Communication

  • Professionally represent the Greenway Trust and follow all Greenway Trust policies.
  • Engage, listen to, and learn from people with diverse perspectives and experiences.
  • Possess high standard of courtesy, selflessness, tolerance, hard work, adaptability, and flexibility.

Safety and Risk Management

  • Contribute to a culture of safety on the crew during all Greenway Trust activities and projects.
  • Perform daily COVID-19 self-checks and report any incidents or injuries in a timely manner.

Physical and Mental Fitness

  • Work long days doing manual labor including building common trail structures, moving project materials, and operating equipment.
  • Work and live outside in inclement weather for extended periods of time.

Administrative

  • Support professional documentation of project metrics, vehicle mileage logs, project reports, COVID-19 check-in forms, and incident reports as needed.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

A successful applicant brings a combination of the following certifications, knowledge, and experiences. Reasonable accommodations are possible.

  • Experience with trail maintenance and construction in the Pacific Northwest.
  • One season of trail crew experience.
  • Working knowledge of proper and safe use of trail tools and equipment.
  • Wilderness First Aid or Wilderness First Responder certification.
  • Chainsaw and/or crosscut bucking certification, training, or experience.
  • Interest in native and non-native plant ecology of the Pacific Northwest.
  • Insurable driving record and the ability to drive full-sized trucks on rough terrain, and trailer experience.
  • Experience working in backcountry settings.
  • Relevant education and/or experience in a natural resource field.
