DESCRIPTION

The Infrastructure, Supply Chain, and Procurement (ISCaP) team within Amazon Web Services (AWS) is responsible for sourcing and delivery of all AWS hardware to ensure that Amazon customers have the right capacity, at the right time, at the lowest cost. We are a team of hard-working, highly-motivated, engaged, and responsive professionals who support the core infrastructure of Amazon business. We are looking for a customer obsessed, results-oriented candidate to develop and lead supplier sustainability programs to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, working with multiple internal teams. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sustainability and program management background, with hardware supply chain experience. This candidate will have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business and technical challenges, with the skill set to drive tactical execution of multiple programs. The ability to self-direct and prioritize effectively to manage multiple simultaneous, constantly evolving programs is a must. Ownership of work is extremely important, and candidates should have a proven record of leading projects to completion and building relationships to drive consensus across multiple teams.

Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement supplier sustainability programs to support AWS’s progress towards Amazon’s net zero carbon goal, collaborating with AWS Sustainability and Hardware Engineering.
· Create processes and tools to manage the collection and analysis of sustainability data across the hardware life cycle.
· Work with AWS hardware suppliers to collect supplier and site-specific environmental data for key components and materials.
· Lead supplier engagement programs to reduce greenhouse gas emissions throughout the hardware supply chain and track progress towards AWS goals.
· Influence suppliers’ manufacturing processes, technology decisions, and policies in ways that are mutually beneficial for both organizations and reduce carbon intensity throughout the product life cycle.
· Measure the impact of existing and future sustainability programs and effectively communicate to key decision makers.
· Responsible for program delivery, developing metrics, internal reporting, and managing inputs from multiple teams.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or other Sustainability-related field
· 7+ years of experience developing and executing environmental sustainability programs, including at least 4 years focused on hardware supply chains
· 2+ years of experience obtaining, managing, and analyzing greenhouse gas emissions data, including Scope 3 categories
· 2+ years of experience leading programs involving multiple teams and stakeholders
· 2+ years of experience working across both technical and business functions

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Master’s Degree (MBA/MS)
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Experience driving greenhouse gas emissions reduction projects within hardware supply chains
· Experience with Life Cycle Assessment modeling
· Successful track record leading program development from idea to execution
· Demonstrated ability to thrive in a high energy environment where strategic and tactical activities are expected to be driven in parallel
· Demonstrated ability to influence with or without formal authority
· Experience with data center infrastructure and cloud services
