- Must be able to work with other staff and the general public in a professional and courteous manner
- Work is primarily indoors but significant fieldwork will also be expected
- Work with local landowners to apply and maintain conservation
- Will compute & plot engineering notes, prepare field sketches and drawings
- Will provide technical support to the conservation planners
- Ability to work outdoors in adverse conditions and walk long distance on uneven terrain
- Ability to lift 50 or more in order to move tools, supplies and equipment
- Must have a valid driver’s license with proof of insurance
- Must be able to pass a federal background check, as required by USDA
The position will require travel around and to three counties. The individual must be a fast learner as they will be asked to learn about and sell conservation practices: this includes organizing meetings, grant writing, and engaging in the survey/design and layout of those practices. A variety of conservation related duties will be expected to be performed. Local travel will also be required for training and meetings.
