Salary- $104,184 – $169,793 per year

As a Supervisory Research Biologist (Aquaculture), you will perform the following duties:

  • Manage, administer, and oversee the Aquaculture and Marine Fish and Shellfish Biology Program performing supervisory functions for professional, scientific, and technical staff.
  • Develop and conduct aquaculture research to support development of sustainable marine aquaculture to enhance domestic seafood production and restore native finfish and/or shellfish species, as well as oversee novel research on the biology of marine finfish and/or shellfish in sub-disciplines such as but not limited to reproduction, physiology, immunology, fish health/ disease, larval fish biology or nutrition.
  • Seek funding for scientific research from federal and nonfederal sponsors and manage reimbursable contracts.
  • Provide expert scientific advice to industry stakeholders and policy makers on aquaculture and provide logistical and administrative support for artificial propagation and laboratory research facilities, including planning, permitting, purchasing, budget planning, and technical aspects of contracting.
  • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed scientific journals and present work at regional, national, and international scientific conferences, workshops, and seminars to the scientific community, stakeholders and the public.
