Picture yourself coordinating habitat restoration and enhancement objectives with the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the U.S. Forest Service as part of the Shared Stewardship Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and Good Neighbor Agreements. 

With your experience, you will synchronize actions, facilitate improved communications, support project identification, development and implementation.

Duties

Our Shared Stewardship (EP5)
  • Facilitates project identification, development, and monitoring of project implementations.
  • Coordinates with the Director’s Office, Project Leads and appropriate staff to identify, analyze and prioritize emerging and critical sustainability issues.
  • Develops strategies and provides recommendations that address issues which comply with established policies and guidelines.
  • Provides internal support through communicating directly with subject matter experts to identify priority actions, locations and develop projects.
  • Monitors the status of project implementation to ensure progress in the delivery of the desired actions.
  • Serves as the main point of contact for the USFS and DNR coordinators.
  • Answers questions and develops solutions related to agency priorities, project coordination, policy/rules/regulations, meeting and project planning.
  • Is the Department lead in facilitating internal staff coordination and collaboration with USFS and DNR.
  • Helps ensure open communication in an effort to enable solutions and complementary results in support of the agency mission and priorities.
  • Develops and maintains close liaison relationship with all internal representatives and external partners to achieve mutually acceptable objectives.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work Setting, including hazards:
    • Most of the work is performed in an office environment.
    • Teleworking options are currently available for office work.
    • Field work may be required, this will involve working in uneven terrain, remote areas, and in inclement weather conditions.
  • Schedule:  
    • Typically, Monday – Friday – 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
    • Workload demands may require work outside the assigned work hours and adjustment of work schedules.
  • Travel Requirements:
    • Moderate travel may be required.
  • Customer Interactions:
    • Customers include DNR employees, USFS employees and WDFW staff.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in biology, environmental science, or natural resources or a related field.

           OR

  • Professional equivalent experience may substitute, year for year, for education requirement.

AND 

  • Three years of progressively professional experience in policy and coordination, preferably within a state or local government.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices related to applicable laws and regulations and basic functions of a state or local government.

Certifications/Licenses:

  • A valid Driver’s License.
