RESOURCE CONSERVATION SPECIALIST

Monroe County Conservation District (MCCD)

MCCD is seeking an individual to perform duties under the District’s Soil & Water Conservation Program. Responsibilities include office and field work involving erosion and sediment pollution control, stormwater management, compliance inspections and permitting, administering regulations, knowledge of fluvial geomorphic stream processes and wetlands a plus, potential for grant administration, stream restoration and protection, agriculture, Dirt & Gravel Road Program, county-wide resource management, environmental education, watershed assessments, planning  and water quality monitoring.

Self-motivated, Team player , Ability to handle conflict and work effectively with the community a must.

Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, related field; supplemented with four (4) years’ previous experience and/or training involving erosion control plan preparation, planning, agriculture, resource management or any equivalent combination of education training and experience which provide the requisite knowledge skills and abilities for this job. Must have valid driver’s license.  County salary and comprehensive benefits package.
