USGS Employment Outreach: Research Economist

 

The Social and Economic Analysis Branch of the United States Geological Survey (USGS) is excited to announce an employment opportunity for two research economists in USGS Fort Collins Science Center, Colorado. Applicants will be able to apply for the GS12, GS13, or GS14 levels. The incumbent(s) will have the opportunity to collaborate on a variety of projects integrating economic and natural science within the USGS, and they will be expected to develop a research agenda that advances economic science while also addressing agency needs.

 

Specialized Experience for this position is defined as experience in applying economics theory and methods in the context of natural resource management and conducting research to aid in the conservation and management of public lands and waters. This includes: assessment of research needs; proposal development; research design; collecting data to measure market or nonmarket economic values or impacts associated with natural resource and public lands management and policy. Specific specialized experience is required for each of the GS12, GS13, and GS14 levels and is listed on the announcement.
