What You Will Do:

As the Program Manager, you will report to the Education Manager and play a significant role in the supervision, support, training and coaching of Environmental Science Educators in both curriculum and program logistics. You will support day-to-day program operations by working closely with the other members of the administrative team. This position is full-time and temporary, January 2022- June 2022, with an opportunity for extension.

Your primary job will be to:

  • Supervise up to 4-5 educators as direct reports, and support all educators with coaching and overall supervision, including training, scheduling, and conflict management; use our ECAP system to observe and provide focused feedback to educators
  • Support the planning and implementation of educator training and staff enrichment
  • Act as the Day Manager and the rotating Manager on Call during programs, oversee and maintain teaching resources, and support NatureBridge emergency response in the field
  • Substitute for educators in the field.
  • Provide general management and support during program emergencies.
  • Regularly review participant feedback and evaluation data. Collaboratively address needs and improvements with the education team
  • Support efficient and accurate program implementation by refining, developing, communicating, and supporting data systems.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to create educator schedules for programs and Communicate program information within and between departments, including coordinating schedules and program resources, coordinating medical and dietary needs for participants, and preparing weekly reports for staff
  • Contribute to a welcoming and safe environment that is responsive to the needs of guests.

This job operates both in a professional office environment and in an outdoor setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The employee may be required at short notice to respond to emergency situations that may involve extended periods in poor weather conditions, carrying heavy weight over uneven ground, at elevations ranging from sea level to 8000 feet above sea level as well as canoe support in cold and windy conditions. While performing duties of this job, the employee is required to regularly stand; walk up to 7 miles on uneven terrain. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must carry a current driver’s license and be able to transport clients in 14 passenger vehicles.

Compensation:

$40,500 annualized salary ($1,687.50 per pay period). This position is full time and Exempt, and includes medical, vision, and dental insurance, retirement plan, and generous paid vacation and sick leave.

Who You Are:

  • Experience with or willingness to learn CRM systems (Salesforce experience preferred) and Google online tools is highly desirable.
  • Experience managing schedules and program details. Able to generate creative and effective solutions to programming issues.
  • Experience managing and communicating detailed information effectively.
  • Demonstrate commitment to equity and inclusion in education, and creating positive community work culture.   • Experience with leadership, coaching, and project management
  • Approach themselves and others with a growth mindset
  • Ability to implement and model effective risk management practices, and a current Wilderness First Responder and CPR certifications
  • Strong pedagogical foundations in experiential learning and thematic teaching, and experience developing programs, training, and curricula.
  • Working knowledge of the natural and cultural history of Olympic National Park.
  • Have a valid Drivers License
