Salary- $40,000-$50,000

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

 Program Coordination (70%). Working closely with Forth Senior Policy Manager and Greenlining Institute’s Transformative Communities Program Manager, the Policy Associate will assist in coordinating, facilitating, and implementing the TEEM Community of Practice.

●      Assist TEEM Program Managers in coordinating and note taking for meetings related to the Community of Practice.

●      Support research related to transportation electrification, equity, and policy.

●      Support TEEM communications efforts including blogs, social media, and one-pagers.

●      Work closely with TEEM organizations and help build relationships within the cohort.

●      Assist TEEM program managers in coordinating and facilitating the TEEM Annual Convening.

●      Assist the Senior Policy Manager to organize, deliver, or support other gatherings, meetings, and projects related to equity, electric mobility, and policy.

Development and Organizational Support (20%). The Policy Associate works with other staff and the TEEM program managers to cultivate funding support from foundations and other sources. Forth operates with a small staff, so the Program Associate must be flexible and prepared to assist where needed.

●      Support efforts to cultivate financial support; collaborate on draft proposals and progress reports.

●      Maintain knowledge of industry trends and best practices in order to adjust strategies over time.

●      Other responsibilities as required.

Policy and Program Support (10%). The Program Associate assists other policy and program initiatives to advance transportation electrification, particularly in historically underserved communities.

●      Encourage, support, and collaborate with cities, electric utilities, community organizations, and other key stakeholders to advance transportation electrification.

●      Promote electric mobility in traditionally underserved communities.

●      Encourage the use and promotion of state and regional incentives to advance equitable transportation electrification.

 QUALIFICATIONS

 Required:

●      A passion for Forth’s mission

●      Demonstrated commitment to racial equity, diversity, and inclusion and understanding of key DEI concepts

●      Minimum two years of experience in transportation, energy, or related field (such as housing, environmental justice, public health, environment, etc.)

●      Experience assisting cohorts, networks, or communities of practice with a specific focus on peer-to-peer learning, social justice and equity, and/or leadership development

●      Demonstrated self-motivation, ability to work independently, and attention to detail without losing a “big picture” perspective

●      Strong written note taking and synthesizing skills are essential

●      Excellent cross-cultural communications skills, both written and verbal

●      Team player who inspires collaboration, lifts up the work of others, and maintains balance and perspective with patience and a sense of humor

●      Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance the campaign’s effectiveness

●      Willingness and ability to travel regionally, occasionally overnight

Desirable:

●      Working knowledge of local government, electric utilities, transportation or related fields

●      Existing relationships with relevant stakeholders, especially in cohort states (Colorado, Illinois, Michigan, North Carolina, Virginia)

●      Experience working in a nonprofit with a mission-driven staff and board

●      Bachelor’s degree in transportation, policy, energy, or related field

●      Demonstrated ability to manage multiple conflicting projects, meeting deadlines while maintaining a healthy work-life balance

●      Experience with key markets such as historically underserved communities, fleet managers, or electric utilities

●      Valid driver’s license
