Pierce Conservation District is government that works. We work strategically, diligently and passionately to conserve and restore the natural resources of Pierce County. The Water Quality Specialist works to increase watershed health knowledge and positive behavior change through action projects, workshops, trainings, and community outreach. Main programs you will serve in are: -Habitat Stewardship Serve with community stewards to improve local open space for water quality, wildlife, and people. -Urban Tree Sale Serve with tree professionals to select urban tree types for our sale and support growing tree canopy over urban landscapes. -Rain Barrel Sale Serve with partners and local vendors to support community harvesting rainwater to slow the urban water cycle. -Stream Team Monitoring Serve with 80+ volunteer monitors to gather stream health data and draft annual reports for partners. Contingent on funding.

Member Duties : -Write posts for Stream Team and Habitat Stewardship FB pages -Monitoring our active habitat sites -Update content on WQ web pages based on current programming and opportunities -Outreach to past WQ project clients to get an update on past project(s) and identify new project opportunities -Participate in meetings with environmental professionals to grow your network -Make educational videos or GIS Story maps to share our work
