Job Description:

This position falls under the Washburne management unit. This unit provides and protects an overnight campground, the Heceta Head Lighthouse, a half-dozen day use parks, and the Ocean Shore along 20 miles of scenic Oregon coastline.

What you will do:

As a Park Manager, you will manage, and participate in the maintenance and operations tasks, interpretation and recreation programs, resource protection work and administrative requirements of one of the smaller and less-complex park management units through short range planning and by the direct supervision of paid permanent, seasonal and volunteer staff who carry out operational functions within the management unit parks.

In this role, you will be responsible for the day to day operations of a high-visitation set of parks. You will need to demonstrate strong operational skills, supervisory ability and a welcoming mindset. You will also be responsible for project management and budget management.

Minimum Qualifications:

(a) Two (2) years of lead work experience in park operations and maintenance.
OR
(b) An Associate’s degree or higher in Park and Recreation Administration or Natural Resource Management or Environmental Studies; AND Six (6) months of lead work experience in park operations and maintenance.

  • Ability and enthusiasm to maintain and improve Community Relations and foster cooperation from other agencies, non-profits and neighbors.
  • Results oriented Customer Service skills.
  • Experience in promoting a culturally competent and diverse work environment.
  • Living in on-site park housing is a requirement for this position.
