Outdoor School staff members will be a part of a collaborative educational team implementing online learning to 6th and 7th grade classrooms. As an instructor, you will teach 6th or 7th grade students in an online format. Instructors will adhere to best practices in education that focus on accessibility, equity and engagement by approaching teaching through a universal design learning (UDL) approach.
Educational teams will work within online school classrooms to implement pre-planned science lessons during regularly scheduled school hours. Instructors may also be asked to help implement supplemental learning like recording and participating in science demonstration videos. As an instructor, you may also have opportunities to provide mentorship to high school students that may help teach in classrooms. Instructors may also have the opportunity to participate in an online high school leadership class as needed. As a team player, Outdoor School employees will work collaboratively and responsibility within their team and the Outdoor School leadership staff. Staff should be receptive to different outcomes, accept and incorporate feedback, and be a positive team player through honest communication, altruism, and respectful actions. As an Outdoor School employee, you are expected to work the hours assigned, communicate and engage with your supervisor, and uphold the mission and values of the Outdoor School program.
