Description

Seeking highly motivated student for an MS graduate assistantship at the University of Connecticut.  The student will be a member of the Department of Natural Resources and the Environment and the UConn Wildlife and Fisheries Conservation Center.  The research project will quantify nest success of mallards in rural and urban development.  The MS student will be responsible for monitoring nests and will assist with GPS collars on hen mallards to assess brood rearing habitat use.  This project is a collaboration with CT DEEP Wildlife Division.  Review of applicants will begin on 1 Nov 2020.  Please email me by Nov 1st, but I will consider applications until the position is filled. Requirements

Applicants must have BS is wildlife ecology or related discipline and strong academic record. Strong quantitative skills are highly desired.  Applicants with previous experience working in harsh field conditions, monitoring avian nests, and/or experience handling waterfowl is preferred. Successful applicants will demonstrate an ability to supervise undergraduates, to conduct analyses, and to publish peer-review articles.
