DCG/Watershed is seeking an experienced landscape designer. Successful candidates will work with a multidisciplinary team of accomplished scientists, planners, engineers, arborists, and landscape architects in a growing 40-year-old employee-owned company based in Kirkland and Seattle, Washington.

DCG/Watershed’s landscape team provides a wide range of design and planning services for both private and public clients and small and large sites with an emphasis on native habitat restoration, environmental mitigation, and sustainable design/low-impact development. Our projects often begin with an ecological assessment, progress with design and preparation of construction document packages, continue through construction administration, and finish with environmental monitoring. Project types include transportation facilities, public facilities, private residences, parks, trails, streetscapes, utilities and commercial developments.  

Primary responsibilities of this position include

  • Preparation of project documents in AutoCAD, including permit and construction plans, detail drawings, and exhibits.

  • Desktop publishing for project graphics, renderings, reports, and marketing pursuits.

As part of the Watershed team, you’ll also gain exposure to: analysis and design development on landscape projects of varying scales; using and building your understanding of grading design, planting design, natural systems and critical areas; construction materials and technical aspects of landscape architecture. You will also be introduced to project management, marketing, and interfacing with clients.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, as well as Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. 

  • 2-5 years of experience with AutoCAD, academic coursework applies.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills for use in a professional office environment.

  • Desire to work specifically in an environmentally focused practice, specializing in environmental restoration, applied environmental science, and mitigation design.

  • Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to juggle competing demands and identify critical paths.

  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record

  • Flexibility for occasional travel in the Pacific Northwest.

Desired Experience:

  • Knowledge of Pacific Northwest native plants, ecosystems, or critical areas is a plus.

  • Background experience, education, or certification in arboriculture, environmental science or planning, environmental education, forestry, mitigation, engineering, or construction.

  • Proficiency in ArcGIS, LandFX, Revit, Civil 3D, Lumion, and/or SketchUp Pro.

  • Familiarity with environmental regulatory processes or development standards and requirements.

  • Affiliations with professional societies, active industry groups, and community involvement are highly desirable.

Salary and Benefits
