COMPENSATION:  $21.43 hr.

JOB SUMMARY:  

Performs standard field and laboratory fisheries stock assessment methods and techniques for the identification of particular salmon stocks of concern to fulfill legal requirements under US, Washington and mandatory ESA terms and conditions for tribal harvest and hatchery programs to continue. Conducts stream surveys and specialized stock assessment sample (otolith, coded-wire tag, scale, DNA) collections for spawning grounds and regional fisheries per established protocols. Prepares and analyzes stock assessment samples in the Tulalip Stock Assessment Laboratory (TSAL), and conducts spreadsheets and database analyses and summarization of data according to prescribed procedures. Performs stock assessment sampling at State and Tribal fish hatcheries and performs other duties as instructed by Tribal management.

 

 

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent. 

 

 

MINIMUM RELATED EXPERIENCE

  • Preparing and entering data into MS Word, MS Access or SQL Server databases.
  • Conducting stock assessment sample collections at State and Tribal fish hatcheries preferred.
  • Stock assessment sample (otolith, coded-wire tag, scale, DNA) collection methods employed on spawning grounds and in regional fisheries preferred.
  • Laboratory experience is strongly preferred.

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES

  • WA State Driver License.
  • Must adhere to the Motor Vehicle Regulation. (Abstract Required)
  • Must complete an agility exam to determine if physically capable of performing the job.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
