This position reports to the supervising Instruction and Classroom Support Technician and works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students to support the laboratory and field science curriculum. The Laboratory Science Aide I will be required to develop knowledge and skills necessary to successfully carry out their assigned duties supporting Programs in biology, chemistry, physics, electronics, geology, botany, computer science, or ecology.

Specific duties include:
• Preparing equipment, chemicals, and supplies needed to implement laboratory experiments and field trips.
• Setting up and testing of experiments as directed.
• Assisting students, faculty, and staff in cleaning equipment and facilities following laboratory or field work.
• Maintaining clean and functional laboratory spaces.
• Performing other duties as required.

• Ability to work with minimal supervision in an environment that requires constant flexibility and attention to detail.
• Ability to create, organize, and maintain records and files.
• Desire to work collaboratively with diverse staff, faculty, and students.
• Ability to plan, prioritize, execute, and complete projects in timely fashion.
• Desire to improve and broaden knowledge and skills across a wide variety of scientific disciplines.
