Pacific County Department of Vegetation Management has two openings for full-time Invasive Species Technician II (union represented: Local 367C).
Basic duties include:
serve as field crew for weed control projects, use mechanical equipment and/or herbicide to control weeds, independently plan and execute weed control projects, maintain required records, engage with cooperating agencies for coordination, complete permitting requirements, maintain vehicles/equipment, conduct field surveys, create estimates for project requirements, communicate program goals with landowners and the public, attend required meetings. Reports to Director with activities reviewed for adequacy of professional judgement, achievement of results consistent with goals and objectives, and compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Minimum Qualifications:
high school diploma or equivalent, valid WA Driver’s License, WSDA Pesticide Applicator’s License (w/aquatic or agriculture endorsement), minimum two years’ work experience in agriculture, forestry, conservation, water quality, or related field, and experience working with governmental agencies, and must pass a criminal background check.
Salary:
Grade 15 ($3,467-$4,571)
