About SOS:
Save Our wild Salmon (SOS) is a coalition of over 50 Northwest and national conservation organizations, recreational and commercial fishing associations, businesses, clean energy, orca and river advocates. Our mission is to protect and restore abundant, self-sustaining populations of salmon and steelhead to the Columbia-Snake River Basin for the benefit of freshwater and marine ecosystems, and Northwest communities and ways of life.
SOS achieves our mission by advocating for the needs of native fish and their waters, and by educating, inspiring, and mobilizing our supporters and the public to act on behalf of salmon and their rivers. SOS has a 30-year history of expertise and relationships – resulting in successful policy and advocacy efforts with our coalition member organizations, strategic allies, scientists, business leaders, and citizen supporters. SOS also works closely with and supports the leadership of Northwest Tribes and Indigenous-led organizations in calling on policymakers to restore salmon and honor our nation’s long-standing tribal treaty responsibilities.
