Job Description:

The Department of State Lands (DSL) is the administrative arm of the State Land Board.  The agency’s mission is to ensure a legacy for Oregonians and their public schools through sound stewardship of lands, wetlands, waterways, unclaimed property, estates and the Common School Fund.

DSL manages real estate properties and their mineral and natural resources to generate revenue for the Common School Fund. The agency also manages navigable waterways, including rivers, lakes, estuaries and the territorial sea, for public use. DSL administers Oregon’s Removal-Fill Law and wetlands management program, and the state’s unclaimed property and estates programs.  All agency revenues are deposited in the state’s Common School Fund, which provides earnings distributions to Oregon school districts twice a year.

DSL is looking for a skilled IT User Support Technician to provide IT support and training to our end-users.  The role will require a customer service mindset as well as creativity in solving issues.  We are looking for someone who can connect with people, be a great communicator, likes to participate in projects, and enjoys challenges.

What will you do!

  • Provide agency-wide user software support, either on-site or via remote assistance tools;
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues locally as well as remotely;
  • Perform all IT onboarding activities for end-users;
  • Work with our internal your team on system testing, integration and maintenance;
  • Seek, Suggest, Evaluate and implement process and Technology improvements; and
  • Learn from some of the best and brightest IT professionals.​

This position is a limited duration position (through June 2022) and is represented by the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME).

Please note: The salary listed on this job posting is for non-PERS members. If you are a current PERS participating member the salary is $4501-$6803 (ISS4) and $4147 – $6274 (ISS3).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Information Systems Specialist 4 OPTION

Three (3) years of information systems experience in IT support (Application, PC, Server, Network, etc.);

OR

An Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field; AND one (1) year of information systems experience in IT support (Application, PC, Server, Network, etc.)

Information Systems Specialist 3 UNDERFILL OPTION

Two (2) years of information systems experience in Infrastructure IT support (Application, PC, Server, Network, etc.).

OR

An Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field.DESIRED ATTRIBUTES

  • Knowledge of Patch Management; and
  • Project management / Design Thinking skills.
