Salary- $77,544.00 – $104,292.00 Annually

Responsibilities:

  • Design, development, and support of mobile applications for forest management and leasing programs using industry standard software and programming languages. This position manages related projects; gathers and documents system requirements from customers; performs data/process analysis and designs technical specification. Implements databases, develops/maintains automated data transfer processes, develops feature/map services and makes them available through ArcGIS Online, Portal, Survey 123, Field Maps, and other platforms.
  • Design, development and support of internal and external web-based data viewers and data reporting systems using industry standard software and programming languages. This position manages/maintains existing web-based data viewers including underlying map/feature services and Java Script-based system configuration files. This position designs, develops, and maintains data reporting and data visualization systems that support internal agency staff/managers as well as external stakeholder groups using platforms such as Story Maps, Experience Builder, and other platforms.
  • Design, development, and support of geoprocessing scripts to automate vector, raster, and tabular processes using industry standard software and programming languages. This position plans, implements, and delivers specialized Python-based methodologies, and procedures to analyze and summarize geospatial and tabular data for mission-critical management decisions related to the operation of the State Lands divisions.
  • Design and development of coordinated trainings in the use of desktop, mobile, and web technology.
  • Maintenance of active communication with field operations staff concerning developed applications and data systems including periodic site visits to region offices located throughout the state.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

  • A bachelor’s degree and relevant experience in Information Technology, Forestry, Computer Science, Environmental Science,  GIS, Geography, or related field with an emphasis on computation.
  • Two years of demonstrated proficiency in the use of ESRI ArcGIS software.
  • Two years of demonstrated proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, JavaScript, etc.).
  • Demonstrated proficiency with mobile application development and data management.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with web application development.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with a relational database management system such as Oracle, SQL, Postgres, Access, etc.
  • The incumbent in this position is required to travel up to 20% time as a monthly average.
  • A valid driver’s license and have two years of driving experience. This position requires driving as an essential function. Finalists and/or interview candidates will be asked to provide a driving record from all states in which they have held a license during the past three years.

  • Understanding of forestry and related natural resource management issues.
  • Applied knowledge of JavaScript, Python, and/or HTML/CSS.
  • Applied knowledge of ESRI mobile data collection platforms: Collector/FieldMaps, Survey123, ArcPad, etc.
  • Applied knowledge of ESRI web platforms: AGOL, Server, Portal, Web AppBuilder, Experience Builder, JavaScript API, Story Maps, etc.
  • Applied knowledge of the Python programming language as applied to the ESRI arcpy and/or ArcGIS API libraries.
  • Demonstrated skills in graphic layout and design.
