Position Description:

GIRLS Project case worker will provide direct motivational and behavior change services to female juveniles (priority will be girls of color, especially African American and Latina youths) and their families who are referred to the GIRLS Program from the Pierce County Juvenile Court or school staff due to behavioral health and/or trauma experiences. Must be able to meet families in the client home, virtually, or other settings preferred by family. Expected caseload is six to eight families at a time. Must comply with and sustain use of training provided to the case manager as well as follow guidance of GIRLS Program supervisor. Job expectations include record keeping and other administrative tasks.

 

 

Education Requirements:

Prefer Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or related discipline. Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work or related discipline is a minimum level of academic training for this position.

 

 

Previous Experience:

Prefer one year of direct experience with youths of color who have been involved with the juvenile court and/or school conflicts. . Must also have one year of experience working with female youth in an office, group, family, community, or other situation. Experience in working with families is valuable. Culturally responsive methods, training and/or experience are important. It is critical that the successful candidate have familiarity with one or more of the following Evidence-Based Program models: Multisystemic Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Aggression Replacement Training. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and some weekends.

The GIRLS Program Case Manger must:

  • Provide direct services to a caseload of five to seven families at a time.
  • Participate in weekly group supervision for case worker team to assure adherence to GIRLS program principles and practices;
  • Participate in individual supervision to effectively implement the GIRLS program.
  • Collect relevant client and family program evaluation data on an ongoing basis and enter data into data base for program evaluation.
  • Maintain availability to client families 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.
  • Assure case manager accessibility to clients when needed at times most likely to promote engagement.
  • Provide evidence of a valid driver’s license, car insurance, have reliable personal transportation available for business travel, including clients. Must pass criminal and other background checks.
  • Work 40hr./week

 

 

Benefits:
