As part of our continued success in the environmental remediation and stormwater management markets, we have an opportunity for an entry level Environmental Technician to join either our Edmonds or Tacoma, Washington office.
After receiving on-the-job training, the successful candidate’s primary responsibility will be to conduct groundwater sampling at our client’s properties located throughout the Puget Sound region. Other duties may include stormwater and soil sampling; operation and maintenance of site remediation systems; and installation of stormwater best management practices in support of projects involving site investigation and remediation, stormwater management, and environmental compliance. Most work assignments will be outdoors and will require some lifting of filled coolers and sampling equipment (e.g., pumps and meters).
This is a full time, benefitted, hourly position and will often require work in excess of 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week. Project assignments may require some overnight stays.
The ideal candidate will have, at a minimum, a high school diploma or an Associate degree in environmental science or similar field, a fundamental understanding of basic chemistry and mathematics, an eye for detail, mechanical aptitude, and a strong awareness of environmental concerns. Ability to document field observations and strong verbal communication skills is also required. Candidate must be able to work independently and in a team environment at various project sites throughout the Puget Sound region, possess a current driver’s license with a good driving record (to verify insurability), and be able to pass a client-required background/security check. Military service welcome.
