WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Develop plans and policies to meet with social economic, and physical needs of communities, including land use transportation planning, transit planning, environmental planning, development, public facilities, and parks and recreational facilities. Develops technical solutions and strategies for medium to large sized planning projects to ensure that the client’s technical requirements for all planning aspects of projects are fully met. May serve as a Project Manager on a limited basis for select medium scale projects. Regular task assignee on multiple projects. Responsible for proactively involving other project team members in development of solutions. Oversee the work of less experienced staff.

Primary Focus Will Include:

  • Preparation of NEPA, SEPA, environmental reports and documentation, permits for fish passage projects.

  • Fish passage projects associated with transportation corridors

  • Fieldwork associated with preparation of environmental technical reports and permits

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • WSDOT Experience

  • Master’s Degree in Planning or relevant field

  • 5 years of relevant experience

  • LEED Accredited Professional; RLA, RA, PE registration or AICP, CEP certification

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Prepares technical plans and reports, written reports, scopes of work, fee proposals and responses to RFP’s for medium to large sized planning projects.

  • Coordinates and interfaces with other project team members during the course of a project.

  • Coordinates with clients on a regular basis to complete assigned tasks and to performs quality checks to ensure client requirements are met.

  • Identifies and recommends appropriate technical procedures that should be used on a project.

  • Responsible for significant portions of presentations and public facilitation. Conducts public meetings/hearings/community workshops and interfaces with client groups and community stakeholders.

  • Prepares scopes of work, fee proposals and responds to RFP’s.

  • May review budgets, invoicing and billing.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Planning, Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Geology or relevant field

  • 5 years of relevant experience
