Basic Responsibilities:
Assists the District in complying with Federal, State, and local environmental laws and regulations, including but not limited to, laws and regulations concerning the Federal Power Act as applied to hydropower licensing, the Endangered Species Act, the Clean Water Act, and the Washington State Environmental Policy Act.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific field of study (i.e., environmental, physical, or natural).
- Four years progressively more responsible directly related experience.
Knowledge of:
- Federal, State, and local environmental laws and regulations pertaining to Hydroelectric Power production.
- Federal Energy Regulatory Commission environmental regulations
- Effects of particular actions on environmental quality, plant life, animal habitat, and electric utility operations. (Wildlife Management)
- Hydroelectric project operations. (Aquatic Resources)
- Effects of hydroelectric project operation on aquatic life. (Aquatic Resources)
