Pay: Hourly rate to be negotiated depending on experience. 

Schedule: 3-6 month position, approximately 10-30 hours per week with potential
contract extension or conversion to a staff position.

Job Type: The contractor filling this position will work remotely and utilize their own workspace, internet service and computer equipment to perform the job satisfactorily.

The 501(c)(3) nonprofit PropagationNation (PN) seeks an intern or part-time contractor to  assist with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and sales support responsibilities. This position will report directly to the PN President.

 

PropagationNation Background

PN is a private 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in University Place, WA, with nursery
operations in Olympia, WA. PN’s mission is to propagate and grow millions of coast redwoods and giant sequoias in the Pacific Northwest. Our vision is to establish community and watershed-based redwood and sequoia forests that provide both critical habitat for increased biodiversity, improved regional economic vitality while fighting climate change. Responsibilities:

The CRM and Sales Support Coordinator will be PN’s primary contact point with customers who
have indicated an interest in purchasing PN coast redwood and giant sequoia seedlings.

  • Provide support for the Development team, with a focus on the operation of the database
    (Neon CRM), which tracks customers, donations, volunteers, donors, and prospects.
  • Manage ecommerce through Neon CRM store.
  • Communicate with special customers to the depth needed to understand all aspects of the
    customer’s order with respect to order volume and shipping needs.
  • Coordinate with PN’s Sales & Marketing Team regarding the quantity and quality of
    information coming into PN about potential new customers.
  • Collaborate with Pricing and Supply Chain teams as needed to keep things working
    smoothly.
  • Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the database including data input and
    output, and end-user training and support.
  • Creation of reports and supporting staff in the proper use of the database.
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely acknowledgement of purchases and gifts and the
    processing, tracking, and reporting of purchases and gifts.
  • Ensure that data is maintained accurately and is easily accessible.
  • Develop, apply, and police procedures to safeguard data entry and security.
  • Create and produce reports from database, as needed.
  • Function as the point person for PN regarding all aspects of donor database/CRM system.
  • Collaborate with Finance Team to reconcile donation data and assist with yearly audit
    process.
  • Process QuickBooks invoices, as needed.

Qualifications

  1. Education, Experience and Required Skills
    • Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and experience
    • Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work remotely, independently, and as part of a diverse team
    • Proficiency in commonly used computer programs, e.g., Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, Excel) and Google Drive
    • Excellent interpersonal skills in working with and communicating with others
  1. Additional Desirable Qualifications
    • Professional experience in database management, sales or customer relations
    • Residence in the Puget Sound region
    • Experience working with and interest in the communities of Puget Sound and
      Western Washington
    • Experience working with a nonprofit
