Role Description

Quixote Village works to provide safe and affordable housing for Thurston County community members experiencing homelessness. Students will be able to support the work we do multiple ways. Some of what the student will be able to help with includes managing our donations and donor database, managing our general email account, putting together resources for staff and residents, helping staff research ways to braid or best use community resources, responding to community questions and other administrative functions.

We work closely with the student to ensure they are working skillfully. We engage the student during our weekly staff meeting and through one on one support with the program manager. We review work finished and currently being worked on to provide feedback and an opportunity to learn and improve.

The primary support we provide students is through working closely during their time with the organization. We have some on site work and some that can be accomplished off site. We follow all guidelines regarding COVID 19 precautions from the state and county.

A big project that we have is updating our process for recognizing donors. We are wanting to streamline the system so it takes less staff time. We have an ongoing challenge of managing our filing and organizing of paperwork. Having a student on hand who can focus on getting our organization organized will greatly help staff better focus on helping our residents.
