Addressing climate change impacts will affect planning and resource management authorities, which are administered by different state agencies. • Provide expertise and technical assistance to Ecology staff and other state agencies for climate change resilience and adaptation to sea level rise, flooding, and erosion.
  • Develop Ecology’s internal and external policy implementation and procedural guidance, training, and resources for addressing climate resilience in local government plans.
  • Translate scientific information into pragmatic policy options.
  • Develop planning processes, local government and stakeholder involvement strategies, and policy options for climate change resilience and adaptation.
  • Participate in and coordinate program input and feedback in collaborative multi-agency or multi-stakeholder workgroups convened to address climate resilience and adaptation.
  • Support Ecology’s internal and external program communications on climate change resilience and adaptation, including updates to the agency’s sea level rise communications strategy.
  • Serve in an advisory role on local sea level rise and climate resilience projects funded through Ecology’s Shoreline Master Program (SMP) Competitive Grant Program.
