Working closely with the AmeriCorps VISTA Coordinator, students will:
– Learn about Thurston County Food Bank’s mission, programs, policies, and relationship with the CCBLA
– Assist with set-up tasks to prepare for drive up food distribution in C Lot
– Work as a team and execute various tasks during food distribution
– Assist with clean-up tasks when distribution ends
– Be knowledgeable of food safety and food consumption and covid safety guidelines
– Interact with our diverse community
– Maintain cleanliness and order of the campus food bank/distribution
Qualifications:
Are currently enrolled or are continuing as a student at Evergreen (fall 2019) Interested in reducing hunger in Thurston County and experience with food security/justice issues
– Are engaged in the Food and Agriculture Pathway of Study

Thurston County Food Bank (TCFB) is a leader in the effort to eliminate hunger in Thurston County. There are many different TCFB satellite and mobile locations throughout Thurston County to serve specific populations. Since 2012, the Thurston County Food Bank satellite at the Evergreen State College has provided resources such as food (perishable and non-perishable items) to members of our community.
