PSE’s Planning team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Assoc Municipal Land Planner position!
Under the guidance and leadership of more experienced Municipal Land Planning staff, obtains land use and environmental permits and completes tasks in support of land use and environmental permitting on construction, maintenance and operations projects. Assigned tasks typically include research, analysis, and document preparation in support of PSE project permitting work plan, as well as influencing land planning, and environmental policies and regulations to support PSE’s business initiatives.
Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE’s operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety.
- Assigned Land Planning related tasks that are often part of projects having many interrelated elements. Under the guidance of more experienced Municipal Land Planning staff:
- Researches, interprets and reports on engineering, land use and environmental documents.
- Plans and develops project permitting plans, schedules and alternatives.
- Collects data, prepares documentation and develops site plans, maps and other exhibits for project route and site selection processes.
- Prepares documentation, exhibits and other permit application forms and documents.
- Supports projects before, during and after construction by documenting conditions of permit approvals and auditing project field conditions.
- Tracks long-term critical area mitigation programs to completion.
- Researches and interprets agency land use and environmental regulations for possible improvements and drafts proposed changes.
- Interprets and applies basic land use and environmental policies, regulations, principles and practices in conjunction with company and industry standards.
- Fosters and maintains good relationships with local, state and federal regulatory staff.
- Completes work accurately and efficiently, and ensures compliance with policies and regulations.
- Supports emergency response work.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- BS/BA in Land Planning, Geography, Environmental, Natural Sciences, or other related field; or equivalent combination of training and/or experience.
- Communication, interpersonal, research and writing skills.
- 1 year experience or internship experience in working with land use or environmental policies and regulations, preparing environmental studies, and interpreting maps and engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of PSE utility construction techniques, standards and practices.
