ASSOCIATE DATA AND GIS ANALYST We seek an individual with experience in data analysis and GIS to support a range of public policy, planning, and management consulting projects. Responsibilities may include:

▪ Conducting analyses that integrate geographic and spatial data.

▪ Managing and building quantitative and statistical models in support of projects.

▪ Creating maps, graphics, and interactive visualizations to communicate analyses to multiple audiences.

▪ Providing cartographic and information design capabilities.

▪ Conducting desk research.

▪ Presenting findings internally and to clients.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE.

▪ At least two years of related work experience or equivalent academic training.

▪ Excellent analytic, writing, and communication skills.

▪ Ability to independently gather, evaluate, clean, and analyze data using Microsoft Excel, and ArcGIS.

▪ A solid understanding of GIS concepts and analytical techniques, including mapping and digital data conversion, cleaning, manipulation, analysis, and presentation.

▪ The ability to support multiple concurrent projects. The candidate must be detail-oriented and prepared to be a significant contributor in a fast-paced environment.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE. We seek multi-talented, multi-dimensional team members with a passion for local policy issues and additional interests or experience that could include:

▪ Familiarity with land use planning principles and practices, including growth management.

▪ Demographic analysis with Census, American Community Survey, Assessor data and other publicly available data sources.

▪ Experience with Esri’s ArcGIS Online suite, such as Web App Builder, Business Analyst, and Story Maps.

▪ Experience using database management systems (e.g., Microsoft Access) or other software tools to extract and parse large datasets for analysis.

▪ Using analytics to answer questions about equity and social justice to inform policy making.

▪ Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign and Illustrator.

To compensate our staff for their exceptional work, we offer a competitive salary, excellent benefits, professional development, and a rewarding and fun work environment. Depending on experience, base salary for this position is $65,000 to $75,000, plus benefits, profit sharing, and merit-based bonuses.
