Assistant Professor – Freshwater Ecology and Sustainability

Job Summary:

Tenure-track Assistant Professor of Biology to teach undergraduate introductory courses in general biology, environmental biology, or ecology, and advanced courses in aquatic ecology, environmental sustainability/health, or water quality; develop an active research program leading to publications and external funding; advise undergraduate and graduate students; and provide service to the institution.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Biology, Ecology, Resource Management, Environmental Science, or closely related field by date of appointment in August 2022.

Desired Qualifications:

Consideration may be given to candidates who lead an innovative research program focused on the biological aspects of freshwater ecosystems that affect environmental health, including but not limited to the ecology of harmful algal blooms; the ecology of disease in aquatic habitats; the impact of climate change on aquatic systems; and fisheries ecology as it relates to environmental health/sustainability. Consideration may also be given to candidates with postdoctoral experience and a demonstrated commitment to teaching and developing an externally funded research program.
