Salary- $69,264.00 – $90,888.00 Annually
What you will do:
- Independently manage and oversee sediment cleanup at sites driven by benthic or human health regulatory standards.
- Oversee and guide remedial investigations and feasibility studies to determine preferred cleanup remedies, oversees engineering design and construction oversight to implement remedies, and post construction monitoring to ensure success.
- Provide expert level technical support to other internal programs and individuals.
- Communicate and convey information directly to liable parties, tribes, stakeholders and the public.
- Represent the Toxics Cleanup Program and Ecology in scientific and regulatory discussions regarding sediment management in Washington State.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Option 1:
A Master’s of Science (M.S.) degree in toxicology or ecological related science with a major emphasis in toxicology and three years of experience as a toxicologist or similar field as a project manager / sediment specialist.
Option 2:
A Ph.D in toxicology or in a health or ecological related science with a major emphasis in toxicology and one year of toxicology experience or similar field as a project manager / sediment specialist.
Special Requirements/Conditions of Employment:
- Certification required prior to site work: Initial 40-hour hazardous materials training (to be completed in the first six months) and annual 8-hour refresher.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
