Adjunct Faculty Position in Environmental Sustainability 

The Natural Sciences Division at Mount Saint Mary College seeks qualified individuals to teach two (2) Environmental Sustainability sections, beginning Fall 2021, but also with the possibility of an ongoing basis. This is a multidisciplinary course that examines the topic of environmental sustainability from several unique perspectives, including alternative energy resources, the influence of climate change on ecological diversity, and pollutants their impact on human health. Emphasis is placed on anthropogenic contributions to climate change, the maintenance of biodiversity and opportunities to effect change through individual actions and civic engagement. This is a course for non-science majors. This course may be taught online. This course is offered during the traditional 15-week semester schedule.

Qualifications include: A Master’s degree or higher is required, in environmental studies, biology or a related field, or in education. Previous teaching experience is preferred. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. All offers of employment are contingent upon a satisfactory background check.
