Tacoma Power is looking to hire an Occupational Intern. This position supports the Customer Energy Programs (CEP) workgroup of the Power Management division, directly supervised by the program manager for solar. This limited duration, trainee-level position primarily assists in the development of Tacoma Power’s green energy programs. This position works under close supervision and assists with the tasks below with the intent to gain practical, on-the-job experience. 

Responsibilities Include

  • Assist with solar applications, solar customer inquiries, and internal/external communications for the solar net metering program. 
  • Assist the Operations team providing support to the participants of solar programs including data entry, research, and responding to solar contractor/customer inquiries via phone, in person and email.
  • Provide project support to data analysts on solar related projects including database testing, data research, and data clean up.
  • Assist CEP residential team with data collection and research projects as needed. 
  • Complete general administrative duties to support CEP Operations team. 

The hours for this position will be 40 hours per week. The term of this position is expected to be one year.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year of post-high school training

Equivalency: 1 year of experience = 1 year of education
