Washington State University AgWeatherNet program seeks Paid Summer Interns Locations: Mt. Vernon, Wenatchee, Prosser, and Pullman WA

AgWeatherNet (AWN) is hiring up to 4 full-time, paid interns for the summer of 2021. The interns will work with directly with AWN field meteorologists in the following tasks: maintaining weather station equipment; locating appropriate sites for station placement; configuring and installing new stations, sensors and related equipment; ensuring sensors are calibrated; implementing, improving, interpreting data quality assurance algorithms. Additionally, the interns will work with AWN researchers on data analysis projects that advance AWN performance and capabilities.

Candidates should be pursuing a degree in atmospheric sciences, environmental studies, engineering, agriculture, or a related discipline and be interested in working outdoors and collecting field observations. Strong communication and teamwork skills are required to constructively engage with researchers and staff.

About AgWeatherNet: Washington State University AgWeatherNet maintains a state-wide network of automated weather stations and an online platform (weather.wsu.edu) for dissemination of weather data and weather-related near-real time agricultural decision support tools to growers throughout Washington State.
