RFP Guidance

NFWF is committed to operating in full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Executive Orders. We continuously monitor legal and regulatory developments to ensure our policies, procedures, and operations align with current federal directives. We encourage all applicants to do the same. 

The ability and extent to which NFWF is able to make awards is contingent upon receipt of funds from federal agencies and/or other funding partners. Final funding decisions will be made based on the applications received and the level and timing of funding received by NFWF.

Chi-Cal Rivers Fund 2025 Request for Proposals

Proposal Due Date: July 30, 2025 by 11:59 PM Eastern Time

The Chi-Cal Rivers Fund is inviting applications for competitive grant funding. With a focus on the major waterways of the Chicago and Calumet region, the program will award grants to reduce stormwater runoff with nature-based infrastructure, enhance the quality and connectivity of fish and wildlife habitat, and activate restored habitats through public access improvements and community engagement. Learn more

Sacramento Valley Floodplain Enhancement for Salmon and Shorebirds 2025 Request for Proposals

Proposal Due Date: August 5, 2025 by 11:59 PM Eastern Time

The Sacramento Valley Floodplain Enhancement for Salmon and Shorebirds program is seeking proposals for projects that support planning, design, implementation, and monitoring of multi-benefit floodplain restoration projects to benefit anadromous fish and migratory shorebirds and advance the long-term health of the Sacramento River Basin and the communities who live and work there. Learn more

Rocky Mountain Rangelands Program 2025 Request for Proposals

Proposal Due Date: August 7, 2025 by 11:59 PM Eastern Time

The Rocky Mountain Rangelands Program is soliciting proposals for projects that voluntarily conserve, restore and improve habitat in the Intermountain West. This project supports work in focal landscapes in the region to restore and conserve wildlife species associated with sagebrush, irrigated meadows and aquatic systems while conserving the phenomenon of large mammal migration. Learn more

Bats for the Future Fund 2025 Request for Proposals

Proposal Due Date: August 14, 2025 by 11:59 PM Eastern Time

The Bats for the Future Fund is seeking proposals for projects that improve and deploy field treatments, management tools and conservation strategies for bat populations that are currently impacted by white-nose syndrome or may be impacted in the future. Actions should be tailored to the disease status, species and habitat(s) in which they are proposed to be used. Learn more

The Pacific Seabird Program is soliciting proposals for projects that address the impacts of terrestrial and marine threats on focal seabird species (a full lifecycle conservation approach) towards reducing extinction risk and sustaining resilient populations. Learn more
