All are invited to attend Science-Based Choices for Climate Action, Insights from the IPCC 6th Assessment Report, a three-day symposium featuring authors of the newest reports from Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the recipient of the 2022 Rose Walters Prize at Dickinson College for Global Environmental Activism. The symposium will be hosted by Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA, USA as an in-person and virtual event.

Save the dates on your calendar, plan to attend, add it to your syllabi, and bring your students and colleagues to engage with some of the world’s leading climate experts. Free tickets to participate in-person will be available in late August. A link for virtual participation will be added to this website at a future date.

A rich program of sessions is being planned for exploring key messages from the IPCC’s reports and perspectives on why the IPCC findings matter, what we should do with the knowledge, and how we can move toward more ambitious and equitable actions.

Tentative session topics include:

  • Demystifying the Work of the IPCC
  • Interfaces between Science, Policy, and Action
  • Communicating Climate Science, Risks, and Solutions
  • Media and Climate Change
  • Cities and Climate Change
  • Human Health and Climate Change
  • Food Systems, Food Security, and Climate Change
  • Social, Economic, and Technological Transformations
  • Resilient and Equitable Development
