CAREERS IN FIRE ADAPTATION
Brown Bag Series
Speakers will provide insight into career pathways in
fire adaptation. The first webinar in this series will
feature community wildfire resilience coordinators
from fire departments across the country.
Learn where you could go in your career and how to
get there.
Who should participate: Undergraduate students, graduate students, early career
professionals, folks interested in changing careers should all feel encouraged to
join.
What will we cover?: In this first installment in the series, we will focus on
community wildfire resilience work. Each of our presenters spends their days at
the interface between landscape management, structure resilience, and
community capacity for prevention, evacuation, and recovery. We will hear about
the day-to-day of working with community and agency partners to protect
communities vulnerable to wildfire risk.
Will there be more sessions?: This is part of a three-part series in which we’ll hear
from professionals in a number of wildfire adaptation fields. In Spring 2025 we
will learn from local non-profits and government employees about their work and
the path that brought them there.
