Qualifications
- Must be an admitted or current Evergreen student who plans to be enrolled for at least 2 credits in fall, winter and spring 2026-2027.
- Excellent communication skills – phone, email and in-person
- Comfortable talking with all types of people – both incoming and current students, alumni, staff, and faculty by phone, by email, through zoom, or in person
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Flexible and able to work with minimal direction, yet able to ask questions to clarify tasks
- General office skills – including Microsoft Office, printers, and copy machines
- Problem solver; takes initiative, fast learner
- Comfortable learning new software
- Maintains professional confidentiality and integrity with student records
- Event or project planning or assistance experience is beneficial to the duties of this position, but not required
- Willingness to collaborate in a team-oriented environment
Job Duties
- MES Thesis support
- Thesis editing and intake of final documents from graduates
- Maintain electronic files of MES students and graduates
- Aid Assistant Director with recruiting prospective students
- Enter inquiries into database
- Send promotional materials to inquiries and recruitment contacts
- Answer prospective student questions
- Attend outreach events as needed
- Maintain MES Weekly jobs/internship blog
- Send weekly jobs email to subscribers and students of the Jobs Blog
- Check general MES email inbox
- Assist MES Director with projects throughout the year
- Primary contact for 3rd Floor Fishbowl room reservations (with MPA Program Assistant)
- Event support – Graduation, Orientation, Admitted Student Day, Graduate School Fair, and Thesis Idea Fair with smaller events throughout year
- Assist Assistant Director in virtual speaker and workshop event coordination
- General office support (copies, deliveries, etc.)
- Attend outreach and recruitment events with Assistant Director: Graduate Fairs, Conferences, etc. when needed.
- Work with MES Assistant Director to update Instagram and LinkedIn accounts with relevant MES content, and content from community partners
- Communicate with prospective students through phone, zoom, and email
- Other duties as assigned
*This position includes a shared office with desk and computer and has the flexibility to work in a hybrid format. The working conditions may vary but the successful candidate will need to be able to be on campus two days per week during the regular academic year and must be in-person for all MES events and in-person activities but may work remotely the rest of the time in this position.
