GRuB Garden Project Internship

Schedule/hours: 10-20 hours per week

General Garden Project activities include but are not limited to:
● Seed starting for Garden Project Participant’s gardens
● Build 35 backyard gardens for community members, 2 per day up, regardless of weather
● Maintain respectful and professional relations with participants on build sites
● Power tool use
● Shovelling large amounts of soil short distances
● Provide mentorship to youth program participants that join garden builds
● Get dirty and have fun!
In addition to farm activities, interns will have the opportunity to:
● Engage with GRuB’s mission and learn about curriculum foundations
Learning Goals and Opportunities:
There are opportunities to learn about farming practices, community connection, food distribution, and so much more at GRuB! We will work with you to define what your goals are and create a learning plan together.

Schedule:
● 10-20 hrs per week: Monday, Thursday and some Saturdays [about once per month] between the hours of 9am and 5pm
● Exact start date and weekly schedule can be flexible
Qualifications:
● Comfortable working independently, with groups, and in multiple locations
● Strong professionalism, communication skills, and reliability
● Willing to learn and maintain GRuB’s cultural norms on and off garden builds
Preferred:
● Ability to transport self to garden builds (mileage reimbursement available)
Physical demands and accommodations
● Tasks are performed outdoors in a farm setting in all weather, with extended periods of physical activity involving standing, walking, bending, and moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds). Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with all abilities to perform the primary functions of the role.
