Department of Community Development is accepting applications for an Environmental Health Specialist position. This is a full-time, union represented position, based out of South Bend.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
Interprets and enforces regulations relating to: Food Program, Solid Waste Program, Water Program, School Program, On-Site Septic Program, and other areas related to Environmental Health. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: conducting and documenting field inspections; investigating complaints; coordinating enforcement and investigative action with all applicable agencies; public education programs; plan review; other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree involving major study in biological science, microbiology, environmental health, or other closely related science. Must obtain a Registered Sanitarian’s license with the Washington State Board of Registered Sanitarians and a completed certificate within 18 months of hire.
