The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has an exciting opportunity within our IT Division. If so, join the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) IT Division as a Virtualization Engineer. We’re seeking an excellent communicator with strong customer service skills to join us in supporting our vibrant and diverse agency in its mission, to work as part of a cohesive team, and to uphold a professional and positive demeanor while working under tight deadlines as priorities shift.
 
The IT Virtualization Engineer manages the virtualization server system software and hardware. This stack is used to create all virtual servers for the agency. This position also manages virtual and physical servers for the agency. This position consults with internal customers and projects for server needs, and assesses new technologies and meets with other teams in ITD and the agency. This position is responsible for helping to create and shape the overall agency virtual and server strategic direction.

Please Note: This position has the flexibility to work remotely part-time, however the duty station is in Olympia, Washington and the successful candidate must agree to travel to the office for key scheduled meetings or as operational needs dictate. Details of teleworking considerations will be addressed during the interview process.

 

Duties

Responsibilities:

  • Manage virtual environment.
  • Builds and deploys system server images.
  • Backup Citrix Administrator.

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
    OR a combination of education and/or experience equivalent.
  • 2 years experience installing, configuring, upgrading and administering a virtual environment.
  • 4 years experience Windows Server Administration experience in an enterprise environment including installation, configuration, imaging, NTFS Permissions TCP/IP Networking, registry editing and setting standards, processes and procedures.

  • Office environment. May need to move up to 50 lbs.
Desired Qualifications:
  • 2 years Citrix Administration.
  • Microsoft Hyper-V or Microsoft certifications (MCSE, MCTS, MCM, MCA.
  • CCNA, CCNP, or Network + certifications.
  • Azure or AWS experience.
