Position:                   GIS Data Technician

Salary:                       $41,235 – $50,747+ DOQ

Location:                  Northwest Indian Fisheries Commission (NWIFC) Olympia, Washington

Closing Date:          November 7, 2023

 

Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in the development and management of the Case Area habitat data, by identifying, integrating, and organizing tribal, state, federal data for integration into AquaScape. Assist with the sharing of data with the member tribes.

 

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources or equivalent and one year of pertinent work experience OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position. Must understand information management systems to facilitate the storage, organization and retrieval of information – in particular, incorporation of legacy datasets. Possess working knowledge of ArcGIS, MS Word, Excel, and relational database management systems (i.e., SQL). Ability to analyze and compile technical information to prepare reports and present information. Able to travel to conduct tribal site visits to gather data, provide training and to attend relevant meetings. Ability to work independently under minimal supervision and cooperatively in a team environment to contribute to the improvement in the sharing of tribal data.
